Tiny Love Letter To BTS, 8th-anniversary edition.

I still have very fresh in my memory that time I decided to watch a BTS music video, I remember well that I didn’t have many expectations, “it’s just k-pop,” I thought, “k-pop is all the same.”

And so, it all started.

I often get melancholic for many reasons whatsoever; for example, when I listen to “Euphoria” it’s impossible not to feel a pressure inside my chest, the “take my hands now” always resonates with my desire to stop time and hold these memories forever.

I’ve learned so much from BTS, it seems ridiculous to most people that I’ve learned so much from a simple band at the age of 26 when I am already an independent adult, but they don’t understand that it’s not a simple band to me. I never chose to become a fan of them, I never decided to be Army, it just happened. And here I am, after so many times when I was about to leave this world, in the end, I stayed and I feel that for the first time I made the right choice not to give up.

Dear BTS, I must confess that I was not always there for you, I have not been a fan of you since your debut, and I know it is deceiving myself to say “I want to be there for you forever” because life doesn’t work like that, but I am sure, deep inside me, that time will pass and in the future, I will be able to say that I enjoyed a part of my 20s.

Dear BTS and Army, there is no forever, but at the limit of our lifespan we learn and treasure until we finally cease to exist, and just like that, as simple as looking at the sky and letting your mind float, that is how I feel and want to feel for many, many years to come.
